UNIVERITY CENTERS EXPANSION
In the Spring of 2003, UCSD students approved a referendum to fund the renovation and expansion of the University Centers. The University Centers is comprised of two facilities: the original Student Center and the Price Center. When the newer Price Center was completed in 1989, the student population was about 18,000. The current population is 26,000 and expected to reach 30,000 by 2010. The exciting University Centers was not designed to accommodate the needs of 30,000 students and the faculty and staff needed to support such a large university.
